How we approach it.

Before you call, if you can do it safely: shut the water off at the main. It is usually a valve where the supply enters the house, or at the meter near the street. Stopping the water is the single thing that most limits the damage while you wait.
After-hours calls carry a modest surcharge. We tell you the number on the phone, not in the invoice.
